Review by hotel critic

Happy Buddha Hostel offers a delightful balance of value and charm, especially suited for young travelers seeking a lively atmosphere in Yogyakarta. My experience stemmed from its ideal location, just steps away from the vibrant Prawirotaran Street, which proved both convenient and quietly peaceful. The facilities reflect a budget-friendly ethos, exemplified by the cozy rooms with shared bathrooms and communal areas. I particularly enjoyed the open-air shower, nestled amongst greenery, creating a refreshing escape from the day's heat. While air conditioning is absent in smaller rooms, this is easily overlooked given the comfortable ambiance and present amenities such as free Wi-Fi and a shared kitchen. The staff, particularly Ardy, made my stay feel personalized, offering helpful tips and local insights. Happy Buddha combines affordability with an engaging experience, making it a sensible choice for travelers keen to immerse themselves in local culture without compromising on comfort.
